Jury Rehearsal review of the Grand Final from the Press Center

The show begins with a fashion catwalk of all artists through the stage and accompanied by models in extravagant white costumes inspired in the nature.

21:12 – Belgium

Good mood for the very beginning of the show. It’s a party! Sometimes I think they are going to do better that everyone thinks.

My personal rate: 5/10

21:16 – Czech Republic

The fatal 2nd position in the running order. As many people say here, the Czechs can’t complain as they made it into the final and the EBU took advantage of that “using” them for being in the 2nd position. Even though it’s a great ballad but I’m sure it’s not going to be better than the 15th place.

My personal rate: 3/10

21:20 – The Netherlands

Tic tac tic tac… Nie-mand heeft nog tijd… 😀 Oh no, it’s another song! It started a bit shy 2 weeks ago but I’m convinced they are going to be in the TOP 10 very close to highest places. Big applause in the Press Center.

My personal rate: 7/10

21:23 – Azerbaijan

Of course Samra and her back vocalists have improved since the first rehearsals here. To me, it sounds better and better every time. But not strong enough to reach a TOP 10.

My personal rate: 4/10

21:27 – Hungary

Ahh this entry hypnotizes me. It’s simple but as I said in the Semi-Final reveiw, his cracky voice embraces you and keeps you, or keeps me at least, very much concentrated until the end of it.

My personal rate: 8/10

Hungary Final

21:31 – Italy

The staging seemed childish to me the first time I saw it but for some reason I see something special now. Many people like it here. Unfortunately it’s too much “Italian average” for me.

My personal rate: 3/10

Italia Final

21:35 – Israel

From the colorful staging of Italy we go into a dark but elegant one. I’m not sure if he’s going to do something good in the final but I like the song and he has made a very nice version of Made of stars.

My personal rate: 5/10

Israel Final

21:39 – Bulgaria

Yes, yes, yes! This sounds cool guys! Daj mi ljubovta, daj mi ljubovta!! If I had to say something, I don’t like the LED on his outfit in the very end of the song. I can’t stop moving!!!! Let’s give love away!

Personal rate: 8/10

21:43 – Sweden

Well yes, he’s young, he’s cute, the song is cool, the staging has something atractive, bla bla. It may be in the TOP 10 but sorry, it’s not my thing.

Personal rate: 3/10

21:47 – BREAK

21:48 – Germany

Everyone says that they kinda like the song but it’s not going to do well. So, and if she doesn’t do that bad? I really think that this entry has something to discover. But yes, maybe nobody will discover it after all.

Personal rate: 7/10

21:52 – France

If the audience are eager for some simplicity in the staging maybe it’s the time for France. By the middle part of the song I’m already bored. What I think is: whether ends TOP 5 or BOTTOM 5. French style.

France Final

21:56 – Poland

It’s mannered, Broadway stylish ballad, black nails, classical and even old-fashioned: I like it! 😀 BUT he cracked his voice in the end during this jury show. 🙁

Personal rate 7/10

Poland Final

22:00  BREAK

22:02 – Australia

This is a strong entry. It sounds a winner song indeed. I have to say that it’s not the type of song that I like but this is a TOP 5 and even a winner! Big applause in the Press Center.

Personal rate: 6/10

Australia Final

22:07 – Cyprus

We need some songs in the bottom places and even if I like this song I really believe that they are not going to do better than a 15th place.

Personal rate: 5/10

Cyprus Final

22:11 – Serbia

I really this song more and more every time I listen to it. This bland and red staging has something to offer but unfortunately I’d say they won’t reach the TOP 10.

Personal rate: 5/10

Serbia Final

22:15 – Lithuania

OK now I get it, this the 10th-15h zone. Cyprus, Serbia, Lithuania and Croatia even they are good songs they rare going to be kind of forgotten. What do you think?

Personal rate: 6/10

Lithuania Final

22:19 – Croatia

Everyone will remember the dress. And I’d say this is not necessarily a good thing. As I said before from Cyprus till Croatia it’s a WC moment. I’m not saying they are bad, just that’s how the running order is working! 🙂 Not her best vocal performance.

Personal rate: 3/10

Croatia Final

22:22 – Russia

People come together now and if there are not surprises Lazarev will win. Honestly, the song is great for 2008 Eurovision. There is something that keeps telling me: “too cheap song for winning”.  But what happens? The show is cool when you see it first time. Actually after listening to it a couple of times it doesn’t impress me too much. My heart is divided. Potential winner but I prefer it not to win. Too much Eurovision pre-made song and staging. In the end, this is just an average Russia radio pop song.

Personal rate: 6/10

22:27 – Spain

Spain has a cool song not well developed on stage. Not sure what to say, I like the song but something is missing.

22:30 – BREAK

22:32 – Latvia

Some people say here that this a “hot” song. I don’t know about that. What I know that I would put this song within the WC group with Cyprus, Serbia, Lithuania and Croatia.

Personal rate: 4/10

Latvia Final

22:36 – Ukraine

There is more than music here. Maybe it’s something personal but she touches my soul.

Personal rate: 10/10

Ukraine FInal

22:40 – Malta

I would add this entry to the Belgium-Spain-WC songs group. But of course in the top of them.  Fans love it but it can be a fan fail.

Malta Final

22:44 – Georgia

Mwahahaha!!! Yes, maybe I’m wrong but this is the song that nobody likes but we will see it in the TOP 10 (or close). And I’ll be glad for it. Wait for it!!

Personal rate: 7/10

Georgia Final

22:48 – Austria

Welcome to the 80’s! Maybe, as we are living hipsters times, people will love it! I’m confused. Supported by Eurofans in the Press Center.

22:51- United Kingdom

Next one please! Please!!!

22:55 – Armenia

This is the best TV show of the night. Why? Because the Russian one is “Eurovision pre-made” and this is  just…unique! Armenia deserves the best!! BUT she hasn’t made the best vocal performance tonight being honest. Anyway, very big applause in the Press Center.

Personal rate: 9/10
