09 March 2017, Yerevan, Armenia — Public TV Company of Armenia(AMPTV) revealed some information regarding the Armenian entry for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest 2017 which wil be held in Kiev, Ukraine! The song premiere date is set on 18 of March — hence we have to wait almost 10 days to listen what is going to sing Artsvik in Kiev on 09 of May at the 1st Semi Final.
As you might know it was December 25, 2016, when the AMPTV announced an open competition for Artsvik’s entry song for the upcoming ESC. According to AMPTV more than 300 composers and songwriters from all over the world have submitted their compositions. Afterwards just 10 songs have been shortlisted. Then it became a time for AMPTV’s creative team, to work hard together with Artsvik and to make the final decision. And the decision came to the composition “Fly with me”.
The song was composed by Lilith and Levon Navasardyan. Perhaps many of you remember them, because they were the composers of Aram MP3’s “Not alone”(Armenian entry at ESC 2014), Mika’s “Love”(Armenian entry at JESC 2015) and Iveta Mukuchyan’s “LoveWave”(Armenian entry at ESC 2016). Lyrics of the song were written by well known lyricist in Armenia Avet Barseghyan and David Tserunyan.
Both the music and the lyrics were inspired by this year’s slogan of the contest — “Celebrate Diversity”. Combining in itself not only Armenian, but also European, African and Asian folk and traditional rhythms and elements “Fly with me” comes to express the beauty of diversity and proves that our stories and voices are the vivid colors of this world.
And our ambassador to ESC 2017 — Artsvik made a comment as well regarding «Fly With Me» — “My song tells a story of a girl, who is the metaphorical symbol of love. She embodies the colors, the stories and the voices that make us who we are. “Fly with me” encourages everyone to come with me on this girl’s journey of championing the diverse and beautiful human nature. I think nowadays it is especially important to embrace our heritage and our traditions. We, the people — our colors, our stories and our voices make up this world. We must never forget that this girl’s light and love is one for all of us.”
“Fly with me”, together with the official music video, will premiere on March 18 at 18:30 CET on Eurovision’s official YouTube channel at https://goo.gl/Kcp9sS .
